Roles Clarity tab causing Node properties dialogue error

Description:
  1. Open a new Visio process.
  2. Drag on an Activity.
  3. Right-click on the Activity and select "Properties...".
  4. Press OK.
  5. Right-click on the Node and select "Properties...".
  6. The properties dialogue fails to load correctly and the following error message is experienced:

Workaround 1:
Open the Properties XML file in, for example, Internet Explorer or Notepad, and check for superfluous content, particularly around the section related to the type of shape associated with the problem.
Note: In the Properties XML file where this problem was reported, there were '-' characters outside any of the element tags. When these were removed, the problem was resolved.
 
Workaround 2:
If the above doesn't solve the problem:
  1. Turn off Roles Clarity (Process Navigator > Options and un-tick the Roles Clarity tick-box).
  2. Save, close and re-open the Visio process.
 
Solution:
An improved, user-friendly error message has been implemented in Process Navigator 11.1.10.
