Symptoms

After accessing the properties from within Process Navigator, the following error is displayed

Cause 1

The properties.xml file may have been customised incorrectly; the properties.xml file cannot have a row name and a group name that match. For example:

<group groupName="HowTo" groupCaption="How To">
 <row rowName="HOWTO" rowCaption="This process shows how to..." rowType="0" />
</group>

Cause 2

There may be a property already within a shape that has the same name as one of the group names associated with the shape in the properties.xml file.

Solution

This solution applies to both of the above causes.

Change the groupName or rowName value so that they differ. Perhaps prefix group names "group" or "grp" to help ensure the name isn't duplicated in a row name.

Applies to:
  • Process Navigator all version
