Symptoms:

When publishing to HTML, you receive the following error message:

HTML target cannot be written to
The target of the HTML export C:\process library\process name.map page-1.html already exists and is read-only. Check the folder permissions and read-only status.

Possible Cause:

This condition can occur in Visio 2003 when Track Markup is turned on. Visio may be waiting for user-input regarding track markup such as a ‘do you want to save changes to drawing 1’ dialogue.

Solution:

Open the file and turn off track changes and save it again before attempting to publish the file

Applies to:
  • Process Navigator all versions
  • Visio 2003
  • Visio 2007
