Renaming the Process Libraries folder

Archive and Continuity plan

When you are changing the name of the ProcessLibraries folder you MUST BACK UP ALL TRIASTER PULICATION AND WEB SERVER CONTENT before beginning.  It is also a good policy to keep the original ProcessLibraries folder in place until the new folder is active.  At no point rename the current ProcessLibraries folder.

Making the new folder

  1. Take a copy of the current ProcessLibraries folder and rename the copy to your new folder name in this case "Libraries".
  2. Configure a new Virtual Directory in IIS to look at the Libraries folder and refer to it as "Libraries" (or whatever your folder name might be) as its IIS alias.
    1. log on to Web Server
    2. Right click on My Computer and select Manage
    3. Expand "Services and Applications"
    4. Expand "Internet Information Services"
    5. Expand "Web Sites"
    6. Select the web site that contains the ProcessLibraries folder
    7. Right click on the web site that contains the ProcessLibaries folder and select New>Virtual Directory
    8. Click Next
    9. Name the Virtual Directory the name you wish to rename the ProcessLibraries folder too
    10. Click Next
    11. Enter the location of the new ProcessLibraries folder
    12. Click Next
    13. Click Next
    14. Click Finish
  3. Configure the Virtual Directory as specified here.
  4. DOES THE STRING THAT YOU ARE REPLACING APPEAR MORE THAN ONCE IN THE LIBRARY URL?  For example http://processlibraries.triaster.co.uk/processlibraries/processlibrary/live In this case please contact Triaster Support for guided assistance. Otherwise please continue to step 5.
  5. In the following files and locations replace all instances of "ProcessLibraries" with "Libraries" (or whatever your folder name might be):

File (<NewFolder>=the name you are renaming the ProcessLibraries folder too, <ProcessLibrary>=the name of each and every one of the libraries) Attribute(s)
    C:\Triaster\<NewFolder>\frames config.xml All "path" fields
C:\Triaster\<NewFolder>\Libraries.xml All "HomeUrl" and "ToolDataPath" fields
C:\Program Files\Triaster\PublicationServer\Config Files\<ProcessLibrary>\Live\frameset.html Any "src" field referencing the processlibraries folder
C:\Program Files\Triaster\PublicationServer\Config Files\<ProcessLibrary>\Live\publication_tasks.xml The "SETINTRANET" field and and file path referring to "c:\triaster\processlibraries\"
C:\Program Files\Triaster\PublicationServer\Config Files\<ProcessLibrary>\Prelive\frameset.html Any "src" field referencing the processlibraries folder
    C:\Program Files\Triaster\PublicationServer\Config Files\<ProcessLibrary>\Prelive\publication_tasks.xml

The "SETINTRANET" field and file path referring to "c:\triaster\processlibraries\"

C:\Program Files\Triaster\PublicationServer\Config Files\<ProcessLibrary>\Sandpit\frameset.html Any "src" field referencing the processlibraries folder
C:\Program Files\Triaster\PublicationServer\Config Files\<ProcessLibrary>\Sandpit\publication_tasks.xml The "SETINTRANET" field and and file path referring to "c:\triaster\processlibraries\"

  6. Delete all html in the <NewFolder>\<ProcessLibrary>\<site>\html directories, where <NewFolder> is equal to the renamed ProcessLibraries folder, <ProcessLibrary> is equal to each and every library name and <site> is equal to each and every site name contained within the library.
  7. Publish each and every site in each and every library.
  8. Test each and every site in each and every library using the Triaster Quality Audit.

Finalising the name change

  1. When confident that the libraries in the Triaster folder are functioning correctly, proceed to redirect the old Virtual Directory to look at the new folder to maintain old links.
  2. Archive off old ProcessLibraries folder as directed in the Triaster Archiving guidelines.
