All Maps Exported Unexpectedly in a Publication

All maps are exported to HTML in a scheduled publication, even those that haven't changed since the last publication. This can add significantly to the publication time. The time-stamps on all of the HTML files will reflect the time at which the publication ran.



A publication prior to a scheduled publication may have been configured to refresh all published maps through the Administration Publication Tasks webpage.

A publication is initiated by a trigger file added to the 'Queue' folder, the name of which is of these forms when generated through the Administration Publication Tasks webpage.


The true/false flag determines whether all maps are refreshed.

This flag isn't included in the PNTASK file generated by the script that initiates scheduled publications, which would just be of the form:


Whatever was the last configuration would persist, rather than a default behaviour adopted.


The scheduled publication script can be modified to include that flag.
  1. Open 'schedule.cmd' in a text editor (e.g. Notepad or Notepad++).
    or perhaps:
    Triaster\TriasterServer2011\PublicationFiles\Scheduled Publications\schedule.cmd
  2. Seek this line:
    set FullTaskName=%PublicationQueueFolder%\%TaskName%.pntask
  3. Change it to this (assuming the behaviour should be to only export changed maps):
    set FullTaskName=%PublicationQueueFolder%\%TaskName%#false.pntask
