Description:

When running Process Navigator on a 64-bit Windows operating system, the Options dialog is invoked (e.g. Tools > Options), and a run-time error occurs.

Cause:

When querying a path in the Registry, Process Navigator assumes a Win32 Registry location, which is different on the 64-bit system.

Solution:

Upgrade to Process Navigator 11.1 or run Process Navigator on a virtual machine which is running a 32-bit Windows operating system. Please note that any version except for the Home edition of Windows 7 includes a free licence for Windows XP Mode, this is a free XP 32-bit virtual machine that can be used for this purpose.

Applies to:
  • 64-bit versions of Windows.
  • Process Navigator 10.1.11 and earlier.
