Symptoms:
An error message, "Errors on this webpage might cause it to work incorrectly", is displayed when viewing a map in Internet Explorer 8.

Cause:
Internet Explorer 8 processes JavaScript (or JScript) differently from Internet Explorer 6 and 7. It's the processing of a particular function that causes the problem.

Solution:
Internet Explorer can be configured not to display that error dialog by unchecking 'Always show this message for webpage errors'. In that case, a small, yellow warning triangle will be displayed in the bottom-left of the Internet Explorer window.
A more thorough resolution is to create the HTML in Visio 2007 SP2. Any publication server should be upgraded to Visio 2007 SP2. Other users can continue to use Visio 2003. Further information on compatibility is given here.

Applies to:
  • All versions of Process Navigator
  • Visio 2003, pre-SP2 versions of Visio 2007
  • Internet Explorer 8
